On the main gateway to the Chester racecourse, sits a prominent site showcasing Lovelock Mitchells concept design for an elegant hotel on behalf of Chester Race Company. Just a five minute walk from Chester’s busy city centre, the hotel provides a perfect location for the large influx of tourists that the racecourse brings.
The project was designed to accommodate the broad range of accommodation Chester Race Company wanted to offer their guests. It boasts 97 en-suite bedrooms, a grand hall, bar and lounge area as well as meeting rooms that can be booked for training days and a dining room.
The hotel was constructed using a combination of an in-situ concrete frame to the ground floor with an innovative flat pack precast concrete panel solution above, allowing the 3300m2 of floor space to be constructed in just 10 months. With a short construction turn around at a cost of £4.5 million, this project achieved a Chester City Council Built in Quality award.
