Chester Town Hall
Revitilising a city landmark

The client brief was simple; add commercial value to the building. We initially carried out a Heritage Impact Assessment so that we could effectively identify all the possible commercial uses of the building. This led to creating new opportunities for conferences, performances, banquets, weddings, television sets and more.

Working hand in hand with the Council Conservation officers, Lovelock Mitchell were appointed to refurbish the beautiful Grade II listed Victorian Town Hall. Specialised trades were utilised to achieve an authenticity to the buildings improvements to ensure its iconic architectural features were enhanced.

Even on a tight deadline Lovelock Mitchell worked efficiently with the project team to refurbish, adapt, and improve this historic building. Since completion, the project has been successful in securing a number of awards including a local Civic Trust Award and a North West Regional Construction Award.
